Centennial Lake is located in the Columbia area and is surrounded by a beautiful park. A paved jogging path runs completely around the lake. Inline skaters will find crossing several wooden and concrete bridges a change of pace while rolling along the smooth asphalt path.
Centennial Lake (cent2s.gif) Wildlife abounds all around the park and can be seen from literally every section of the path. Geese, ducks, rabbits, and the usual varity of birds add to a serene setting. A mild arobic workout is a sure thing while traversing the variety of hills and valleys on this path. While traveling through the tunnels formed by overhanging branches of the trees, it is wise to watch out for slippery wet areas. I find the moist patches of the path to be extremely slippery and do everything in my power to avoid them.

Parking at Centennial is easy because of the many spaces available. Benches and water fountains strategically placed throughout the park helps to ease the muscles and quench the thirst of those using the path. Restrooms and a small sandwhich shop are a welcome sight for those visiting the park for an extended period. A children's playground and large open grassy fields provide all the facilities necessary for all ages of children to play games.

During the summer, on selected Wednesday nights, live music of all varieties can be heard streaming from the outdoor ampitheater. All in all this park is a multipurpose facility and can be utilized for much more than exercising. Plan on staying longer after skating around the path - have fun!
